Dopo tanta pena sopportata nel tuo sofferto silenzio, finalmente sei entrato nell'orizzonte che da tempo sognavi e dove abitavano i tuoi ricordi di ragazzo che amava il cielo, il vento e il mare. Nei pomeriggi della tua lunga malattia abbiamo parlato di tutto: del dinghy e degli amici di questa barca meravigliosa in primis. Ricordi sì, ma poi sempre più sogni e illusioni. Ritornare in acqua, magari tra le boe con i nostri amici della vela, compagni di passioni e competitori nelle regate e nel vento. <br /> Fino all'inizio della chiusura per il contagio discutevamo delle nuove regole per la partenza, specialmente del tuo modo di partire di "rincorsa" come nel Palio di Siena per non intrupparti tra i rifiuti degli altri. Parlavamo dei nostri compagni e della malattia del carissimo Giorgio Pizzarello; nota a noi, ma non divulgata. Una preoccupazione sotterranea che poi la sua morte ha svelato senza che ci potessimo abbracciare e condividere il dolore del lutto.<br /> Adesso sei giunto tu su questo tristissimo traguardo. Con Bernardo, Massimo, con Yan, l'altro Giorgio e poi Alberto e la cara Francesca non sapevamo se era meglio sperare in un tuo ulteriore ritardo, ovvero in un arrivo un po' più rapido per non soffrire ancora. <br /> Ai primi di marzo, ricordo, mi dicesti: "Ho resistito per oltre quattro anni di vita che ho vissuto per merito dei medici, della scienza e dell'organizzazione sanitaria; ringrazio tutti, ma adesso non ce la faccio più. Sono stanco". Come se combattere ancora non avesse più senso, ma questo non lo hai detto e so che hai combattuto ancora fino a quando nuovamente ti si poteva venire a trovare. Ma era troppo tardi ormai, tu avevi accettato amaramente la sorte e ti sei concentrato sull'ultimo bordo che ti restava da percorrere e l'hai voluto fare da solo; non volevi distrarti in nuove conversazioni ormai inutili. <br /> In questi ultimi mesi avevi riordinato i tuoi ricordi: i più recenti e poi via, via mettendo in primo piano quelli più antichi della famiglia, della giovinezza, delle ragazze dell'estate e del mare. Eri pronto e pochi giorni fa l'ho capito quando svegliandoti dal torpore dei farmaci mi hai guardato e mi hai ripetuto le stesse parole che avevi detto a tua sorella e alle nipoti. Con voce debolissima e sforzandoti per farti capire mi hai detto: "Voglio stare solo" e poi con un gesto della mano hai salutato. Era l'ultima volta e così ho ripensato alla volta precedente di due giorni prima quando facendomi forza e ricordando che più volte mi avevi chiesto di parlarti di Dio e delle cose spirituali, ti ho domandato se volevi recitare il Padre Nostro seguendo mentalmente le mie parole e lo abbiamo fatto tenendoci stretta la mano. Dalla finestra appena aperta entrava la brezza del ponente romano che spostava lievemente la tenda e da quella stanza anonima che si apprestava ad accogliere la tua solitaria agonia, dalla nostra città, dalla mia empietà si alzava verso il cielo nientemeno che una preghiera. E lo scrivo qui in questo breve articolo di ricordo per dire quante cose nascoste vivono nei nostri animi; quanti sentimenti inconfessati ma veri ci nobilitano al di là della spavalderia di una nostra giovinezza non ancora finita e che il gioco della vela continua a prolungare.<br /> Eravamo alla fine della nostra corsa e, come ho detto, hai voluto correre l'ultimo bordo da solo. Giorgio Pizzarello è morto. Ho spesso navigato contro di lui e lavorato con lui per prendere la vela nel concerto 12ft al livello successivo. Una persona speciale, bei ricordi. Nell'articolo del mio collega italiano Stefano Tolotti (Flotta Romana) è descritto in dettaglio. Tutti i membri della famiglia desideravano molta forza e soprattutto Paola Martinelli. Nella foto superiore Giorgio e Paola sulla terrazza della KWVL, dopo che l'avevo convinto a partecipare al Campionato Olandese. La foto in basso è stata scattata nel 2008, dopo una gara di vela nel Golfo di Napoli. Sull'acqua e nelle discussioni sulla plastica o lo tuollen di legno sarebbe stato fanatico, ma poi sulla riva eravamo di nuovo amici.<br />

gli amici dei dinghy si sapeva che era ammalato, ma tutti abbiamo rispettato il
giusto riserbo sino ad oggi con la notizia della sua morte che ci lascia in un
grandissimo dolore. Con Giorgio Pizzarello abbiamo perso un grande amico a
terra e in acqua, un eccellente timoniere, un uomo generoso nella vita, nella
professione e nello sport della vela nel quale la sua famiglia da sempre si è
cimentata.<o:p></o:p></span></span></span></div>

dire oggi quante regate abbia vinto, quanti premi e riconoscimenti abbia
conquistato. Prima di approdare alla gloriosa classe dei dinghy, Giorgio ha
regatato sui Finn, sui J24, sugli Snipe e prima con il padre e il fratello
Stefano sul Dragone con il nome della sorella Giada. Ma non si accontentava di
partecipare; egli, infatti, amava farsi carico dell’organizzazione della classe
e dei circoli che ha frequentato. Per anni è stato Segretario della classe
dinghy, ma già prima aveva cercato il rilancio di questa barca sul piano
internazionale invitando in Italia olandesi, svizzeri, tedeschi, giapponesi e
turchi e andando a regatare da loro nel circuito armando anche un Dinghy 12’ di
costruzione Olandese,<o:p></o:p></span></span></span></div>

a Roma e nel Lazio il dinghy era pressoché scomparso con grande entusiasmo
rianimò la classe organizzando Campionati nazionali prima ad Anzio poi nel 2001
a Bracciano che vinse e poi per due volte arrivò secondo), campionati invernali
e, soprattutto, la regata intitolata a suo padre Franco, divenuta negli anni un
appuntamento nazionale. <o:p></o:p></span></span></span></div>

ha prodotto questo. In molti. E ha lasciato un vuoto anche in chi non lo ha

</span>che si affaccia tra le nuvole, i ricordi<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;">
</span>continuano a<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>scorrere veloci e
inarrestabili. Sotto forma di espressioni, immagini, confidenze, sogni,
progetti, battaglie, giudizi, passioni, messe a punto tecniche, pillole di
tattica di regata (anche schizzate su tovagliolini da bar), consigli, cazziate,
scontri, riappacificazioni, cure medico/ortopediche, sempre risolutive. Il tutto
dispensato con passione, vitalità, signorilità, generosità, amicizia vera,
correttezza. Una sequenza praticamente inesauribile. Giorgio, il mio Boss, come
lo chiamavo scherzando, mi ha inventata come Segretario della Classe Dinghy in
un momento difficile dell’AICD. Ha creduto in me e gliene sono stata sempre
grata, e in tutti questi anni – correva allora l’anno 2011- non ho mai mancato
di tenerlo aggiornato dei fatti della Classe, anche qualche giorno fa, con gli
sviluppi positivi dei rapporti italo/olandesi e con il nuovo sito al quale
stiamo lavorando. Così come avevamo condiviso le due regate nazionali, di Coppa
Italia e del Trofeo Dinghy Classico che in questo 2020 avrebbero riportato
nelle acque della sua Flotta Romana, se non fosse stato per il malefico
Coronavirus.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span><o:p></o:p></span></span></div>

carattere, e origini liguri, non sono di grandi parole. Mi imbarazza. Chiudo
quindi qui questo pensiero dedicato a Giorgio, che mi sgorga a poche ore da
quando se ne è andato, con un piccolo inventario di parole e flash che mi
vengono in mente pensando a lui. Amico, generoso, signore, intelligente,
carismatico, intuitivo, attento, profondo, sincero, campione, impulsivo,
appassionato, coraggioso, comprensivo,<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;">
</span>diretto,<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>a tratti esplosivo,
leale;<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>colonna, cuore e anima della Flotta
Romana; Maestro di vela, ma anche di vita; mai falso; la borsa da medico
appoggiata sulla panca del<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>Dinghy,<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>mentre sta armando per ultimo perché deve
dare i resti a tutti sotto forma di supporto e consigli, se non visita
ortopedica al volo; elegante in regata<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;">
</span>con la immancabile camicia e braga chiara al posto dei capi “tecnici”;
l’appellativo bella giovane, quando ti chiamava al telefono o ti
incontrava;<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>il profumo del suo sigaro al
caffè (?) durante la poppa; il creativo modo di chiedere acqua arrivando
in<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>boa alzandosi in piedi e mettendo il
timone tra le gambe: “tu, tu, tu e tu, siete ingaggiati, voi altri no…”; l’uso
dei punti esclamativi negli scritti; il modo “garbato” (eufemismo) con il quale
riprendeva gli ufficiali di regata quando posizionavano male il campo di
regata; splendido, il talento come efficace, risolutivo ortopedico, e poi, e
poi, e poi …..<o:p></o:p></span></div>

lontani dai nostri Dinghy, tanto che alcuni hanno supplito dandosi ad

risultato che<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>fino a poco tempo fa sembrava
lontano: l’avvicinamento<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>tra la Classe
Olandese, il Twaalfvoetsjollenclub, e l’AICD. <o:p></o:p></span></div>

Imperia e al Dinghy Day, a seguito di un periodo internamente complesso, ad
aprile 2019 il Twaalfvoetsjollenclub ha eletto un nuovo Consiglio e
nominato<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>Jaap Wientjes<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>Segretario.<o:p></o:p></span></div>

aveva contattata dopo la sua nomina, anche grazie ai buoni uffici di Patricia
Surendonk, che frequenta le nostre regate e che in molti conosciamo e
apprezziamo. L’idea era di incontrarci<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;">
</span>in occasione di una mia trasferta lavorativa ad Amsterdam, poi
cancellata a causa del Coronavirus, e comunque al Bombolino, purtroppo<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>saltato anche quello.<o:p></o:p></span></div>

sintesi, detta con le sue parole, è che “We are all aware of the differences in

but there is still a lot more that units us.” </span>( traduzione: siamo tutti
consapevoli delle differenze delle rispettive regole di Classe e specifiche dei
Dinghy 12’. Chiaramente ciò può essere elemento di separazione, ma c’è comunque
molto di più che ci unisce.” <o:p></o:p></span></div>

<span style="font-family: Calibri;">Partendo da questo presupposto condiviso, e consapevoli -

italiani e olandesi non mostrano differenze significative, neppure nel
peso,<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>mentre sono le manovre, la
vela,<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>le antenne, il materiale degli
scafi,<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>che hanno avuto una evoluzione
diversa in Italia e in Olanda, determinata dalle diverse condizioni in cui si
regata, siamo<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>d’accordo entrambi che è
irrealistico oggi ipotizzare di convergere su un regolamento unico.<o:p></o:p></span></div>

Classici. Ho anche detto che se si presenteranno in gruppo a nostre regate,
metteremo in palio un premio anche per il meglio piazzato dei Dinghy di stazza

Towing Test, that is<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>published on your
web site and do not<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>consider neither
valid, nor useful<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>its results,
chiefly<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>because it is<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>based on incorrect assumptions in respect
of<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>our Italian 12’Dinghies.<o:p></o:p></span></span></div>

note that the first and second Italian 12’ Dinghy, I 1 Pierino and I 2
Lodoletta, have been built by shipyard Depangher in Capodistria, at that time
still Italy.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>It was the year 1929.
Marquise Emilio Reggio had seen the 12’Dinghies compete, as single class,<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>in the 1928<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;">
</span>Amsterdam Olympic Games. He had liked the boat and had bought the
designs from IYRU in the UK in order to have it built.<o:p></o:p></span></span></div>

<span lang="EN-US" style="mso-ansi-language: EN-US;"><span style="font-family: "calibri";">Both
Pierino and Lodoletta do still exist.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>Pierino
is now permanently exposed at the Genoa<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;">
</span>Galata Museum and we have its original measurement certificate, since
said boat has been with family Reggio until now.<o:p></o:p></span></span></div>

<span lang="EN-US" style="mso-ansi-language: EN-US;"><span style="font-family: "calibri";">Lodoletta
is still racing and has been recently re-measured. It has also passed the
“lamboley” test, that is mandatory since 2008 on all 12’ Dinghies,<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>and the results have been amazingly similar
to the ones of modern 12’ Dinghies. <o:p></o:p></span></span></div>

<div class="MsoNoSpacing" style="margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt;">
<span lang="EN-US" style="mso-ansi-language: EN-US;"><span style="font-family: "calibri";">The rule
about the<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>minimum weight of our
boats<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>has remained the same since then:
115 kg , inclusive of rudder with tiller and any floorboards; centreboard
excluded.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>A number that you find in all
official Italian Measurement and Construction Rules that have been
published<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>since<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>1930<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;">
</span>until<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>today<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>by<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;">
</span>the<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>Italian Sailing Federation
(at that time Unione Società Veliche Italiane on IYRU letterhead). <o:p></o:p></span></span></div>

the 80ties my predecessor Bariffi, to save the 12’ Dinghy from decline in
Italy, studied with a team of experts the rules for the construction of
GPR<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>and GPR/ Wood 12’ Dinghy, huge
attention was posed to create rules<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;">
</span>having wooden 12’Dinghies as benchmark,<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;">
</span>with the goal of rendering equivalent<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;">
</span>the performance of GPR 12’ Dinghies to<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;">
</span>that of wooden 12’Dinghies. This<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;">
</span>because in my country, since then, and also after the come back of the
wooden 12’Dingies in the 2000s, we love to race all together in a single
fleet,<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>in real time, reserving special
prices for the first master, the first super-master, the first lady and the
first Classic 12’ Dinghy. In some races we have prices also for the first
veteran and the first vintage Classic 12’ Dinghy.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>We can also proudly say that last September,
at the Imperia Italian Championship, with Classic 12’ Dinghies being 16 % of
the whole fleet of 76, a Classic 12’Dinghy has been 3rd over all, after
fighting<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>until the last race for the
first position over all.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span><o:p></o:p></span></span></div>

Italian Class we believe in transparency. This is why you can find all
exiting<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>measurement certificates of our
boats on line, on our web site.<o:p></o:p></span></span></div>

the 2nd World War, the offices of the Italian Sailing Federation in Genoa were
bombed and many measurement certificates, including the ones<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>regarding<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;">
</span>12’ Dinghies of the 30ties, were lost. Luckily some families had kept
their copy at home and on our web site you can find also many certificates<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>from the 1930s and 1940ties . The reported weights
are within said parameter.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>Pierino,
1929, is 119 kg; Lodoletta, 1929 is 118 kg;<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;">
</span>Gimbi, 1943, is 122 kg; Rondine and Nano, 1934, are<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>both kg 124;<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;">
</span>IVAN, 1947, is<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>kg 117.<o:p></o:p></span></span></div>

remark. It is true that a couple of old 12’ Dinghies out of our 2400 have been

12’Dinghy<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>passionate know, this is<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>an absolute<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;">
</span>exception that we take pictures of,<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;">
</span>not the rule. Something that, as I am sure<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>you are aware,<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>does unluckily happen in all countries.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span><o:p></o:p></span></span></div>

</span>that has<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>jurisdiction<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>and<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;">
</span>has<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>approved and enforced said
Construction and Measurement rules.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span><o:p></o:p></span></span></div>

regards the weight of the hull and its connected parts. <o:p></o:p></span></span></div>

depends not only from the weight of the hull, but also from a number of other
items among which<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>the type of<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>trimming manoeuvres to optimize the<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>performance of the sail, the shape and
surface of the sail, the antennas, the wave and wind conditions, the number of
the crew members. <o:p></o:p></span></span></div>

modifiche dell’attrezzature di armamento del Dinghy 12’ ai tecnici della Watersportverbond
(Lo loro federazione). L'Associazione Sport Acquatici (l’equivalente della
nostra FIV) è un insieme di circa 400 associazioni di sport acquatici (canoa,
canottaggio, barche a motore, surf) e rappresenta oltre 80.000 affiliati: utenti
ricreativi, atleti ricreativi, atleti agonisti e migliori atleti.<o:p></o:p></span></span></div>

la Flotta Romana dei Dinghy 12’ si incontrerà sede sportiva dell'Acqua Acetosa del
RCC Tevere Remo, grazie al impegno di Stefano Marini Balestra che ne ha curato
la programmazione. Si soppeserà la stagione 2019 appena conclusa, poi
soprattutto si parlerà della prossima stagione agonistica. Nel 2020 la Flotta
Romana ospiterà ben due nazionali, la Coppa Italia il 13 e 14 giugno a Santa
Marinella e la tappa del XX Trofeo Dinghy Classico a Bracciano il 18 e 19
luglio.<o:p></o:p></span></div>

Landolfi impegnata nell’Admiral’s, è nato il “mito” quindi per tanti anni ha
lavorato come fotografo di vela con Vogue Italia. Ora dopo oltre 30 anni splendide
foto di mare, ancora la Coppa America e le grandi regate d’altura come la

conclusione di un articolato traino dal Lido di Venezia alle acque adiacenti al
bacino di San Marco, hanno disputato una prova sotto la sede sportiva della
Compagnia della Vela. Il “caigo” del mattino infatti, la nebbia intensa che a
volte avvolge Venezia, ha ritardato l’ingresso e il passaggio di due grandi
navi da crociera davanti a San Marco, impedendo lo svolgersi della regata al
centro del bacino.<o:p></o:p></span></div>

a sud ad ottobre il clima è ancora estivo, campo di regata era posizionato all’interno
del mar Grande con aria da 3 a 5 m/sec in crescendo. Novità per le nostre
regate i ragazzi della sez. navale Marina Militare che sono scesi in acqua con
evidenti handicap di esperienza con il Dinghy 12’ e di attrezzature datate,
sicuramente entusiasti dell’esperienza ci siamo lasciati con la promessa di
incontrarci sui campi di regata e di organizzare un clinic a Taranto il
prossimo anno. Sabato Yann Masserotti (CVTiberino) imprendibile, con ottimi
spunti di velocita di Francesca Lodigiani (CVS Margherita) e di Cosimo
Bottiglione (M.M). Oggi domenica 13 si è iniziato con aria molto leggera in
crescendo che contro ogni aspettativa ha consentito di concludere tutte le prove
in programma, Antonio Loretano (CVTiberino) ha vinto le due prove molto combattute,
Bobo Scanu (CV Alisei) pur con un secondo di giornata non è riuscito a salire
